Suppliers & Products
Carington Mouse's Larder is constantly developing the product range we have. All our wines are sustainable and some totally organic, our beer is all from Scotland and most of our suppliers are local. We have tried to use as much Scottish produce as we can, but with some products this is not always manageable. We have therefor been very careful on the products that we choose, and we are constantly changing and developing as we discover new products and products that are not as ethical as we once thought. All our meat is from Peelham farm, and is organic and very tasty. Our veg, fruit, and eggs are all organic and come from East Coast Organics, and although some of the fruit and veg is imported the impact of this is minimised. Our coffee is from Artisan Roast and we use a seasonal blend, meaning it uses the types of beans available each season, rather than import specific beans from elsewhere so the taste of the coffee develops and evolves with the seasons. It is all sourced direct from the farmer to support local communities. Our tea bags are from Eteaket, an Edinburgh based company that are part of the Ethical Tea Partnership, a non profit organisation to improve the lives of tea farmers, improves the environment they are in, and promotes the sustainability of tea production. All our bread is baked by the Manna House Bakery, and is delivered daily ensuring it is always fresh. For most of our dry goods we use GreenCity, a Glasgow based co-operative that are veterans in the slow food movement that is starting to pick up real pace in Scotland. Our cheese is almost all sourced from Scotland, although we have thrown in a few of our favorites from elsewhere. We use a small family based vineyard that we know personally to supply some of our wine, they promote a growing method that gives back to the soil. All new products will be updated on social media so be sure to follow us and all that jazz to keep up to date with our ever growing product range.
